Copyright and DMCA Policy
Effective Date: 9 October 2026
Mystaraliza Grid respects the work of creators and expects everyone who uses the grid to do the same. Content uploaded to Mystaraliza Grid must be either created by the person uploading it or used with the rights holder’s permission.
If you believe content on Mystaraliza Grid infringes your copyright, you can ask for it to be removed using the process below. This process follows the notice-and-takedown procedure of the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), and is also offered to rights holders anywhere in the world.
Submitting a Takedown Notice
Please email your notice to Stella Brightwell with “DMCA Takedown Notice” in the subject line. To be processed, your notice must include:
- Your signature: a physical or electronic signature (your typed full name is acceptable) of the copyright owner or a person authorised to act on their behalf.
- The original work: a description of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed.
- Where the infringing content is: enough detail for us to find it on the grid, for example:
- the region name and coordinates
- the object or item name
- the asset or item UUID, if known
- the name of the avatar who owns or displays it
- Evidence of ownership: information showing you own the work or have the right to act for the owner, such as original files, creation dates, marketplace listings or other proof of authorship.
- Your contact details: your full name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
- Good faith statement: a statement that you believe in good faith that the use of the material is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
- Accuracy statement: a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act on the owner’s behalf.
Incomplete notices may not be acted on. We may contact you for more information.
What Happens Next
When we receive a valid notice, we will:
- review it and, where appropriate, remove or disable access to the content promptly
- let the avatar responsible know that the content was removed, and why
- keep a record of the notice
Counter-Notice
If your content was removed and you believe this was a mistake, or that you have the right to use it, you may send a counter-notice to Stella Brightwell with “DMCA Counter-Notice” in the subject line. It must include:
- your physical or electronic signature
- a description of the content that was removed and where it appeared before removal
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith the content was removed by mistake or misidentification
- your name, postal address, telephone number and email address, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate court for your address (or, if outside the United States, any judicial district in which Mystaraliza Grid may be found), and that you will accept service of legal process from the person who sent the original notice
We may pass your counter-notice to the person who made the original complaint. Unless they tell us they have started legal action, the content may be restored after 10 to 14 business days.
Repeat Infringers
Accounts belonging to residents who repeatedly upload or distribute infringing content will be terminated, in line with our Terms of Service.
Hypergrid Content
Mystaraliza Grid can only remove content stored on our own servers. Items brought in by Hypergrid visitors may come from other grids. Where possible, we will remove infringing items from our regions and refer you to the visitor’s home grid for anything held there.
False Claims
Knowingly making a false claim in a notice or counter-notice may lead to legal liability for damages. If you are unsure whether content infringes your rights, please consider seeking legal advice before submitting a notice.
